These supplemental insurances are most frequently purchased as voluntary payroll deductions. Although each of these insurance plans can stand alone, they are particularly attractive to employers when they added to health insurance, because they allow employees to increase their protection at no cost to the employer. For insurance, the vision and dental insurance plan, which is not broadly available to most agents, is an immediate value added in a group health insurance competitive bidding situation.
